The Damned

Within the flames they writhe,
Staring forth from unseeing eyes.
Their gaze no longer outward,
They perceive only the pit of their souls,
Those passions that consume them,
From which they can never release,
Never let go.
Despair for eternity,
Agony and silent screams.
No pity,
No compassion,
No respite or peace in any fashion.
They cry out to be freed,
But are unheard.
God has turned His eyes from them,
And removed His hand.
They are alone.
The are forgotten.
They are the Damned.
